The other RR knives are great for animal breakdown, but I purchased the Mano for slicing of vegetables, herbs, and meats once removed from an animal.
There are 2 things I think could be improved. The first being the sheath. The one that comes with the Mano, does not appear to have a great way to add it to a belt, strap, or anything else. The sheath also does not have a lock or even a friction fit. Overall there just isn't a good way to secure, or protect the blade for safety and ease of use.
The second complaint I have is with what I would call, an overlooked design flaw. The Mano blade does not run the full length of the handle, and the handle being so long allows for a large gap between the two scales that make up the handle. This gap is larger enough to allow for material and contaminants to become lodged, and narrow enough that you have to disassemble the Mano to successfully clean it. It would be nice if in the milling stage there was a recess for the blade so that the scales could fully seal when the blade is installed.
I do not hunt and use these knives on a regular basis, but I can see where a more avid hunter would find these detractors a deciding factor.
